On the evening of March 7, 2026, the Most Noble Number charity auction took place at the Armani Hotel Dubai. Organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) in collaboration with Emirates Auction, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), e&, and du, the event raised a total of over Dh1 billion, combining auction bids and pledges from international foundations.

All proceeds go towards the Edge of Life campaign, a Ramadan initiative focused on combating child malnutrition worldwide, with the goal of helping five million children.
Top number plates sold
The star of the evening was plate DD 6, which sold for Dh37 million, making it the most expensive item auctioned. Other notable results included DD 99 at Dh8.9 million, DD 16 at Dh9 million, DD 25 at Dh6.4 million, DD 30 at Dh6.1 million, DD 100 and DD 999 at Dh5.1 million each, DD 7000 at Dh2 million, and DD 22222 at Dh1.9 million.
In total, the nine RTA vehicle plates alone generated tens of millions in bids. The results confirm that single-digit and low-digit plates under premium codes continue to command extraordinary prices in the Dubai market.
Major pledges and donations
Beyond the auction bids, several major international foundations made significant pledges during the event. The Aga Khan Foundation committed Dh367 million, the Gates Foundation and Edelgive Foundation each pledged Dh184 million, the Piramel Foundation contributed Dh184 million, and Tata Trusts pledged Dh73 million. Combined with the auction revenue, the total raised exceeded Dh1.1 billion.
What the results mean for plate valuations
The Most Noble Number auction is a charity event, and prices at charity auctions can run higher than typical market transactions due to the philanthropic nature of the bidding. That said, the results still reflect genuine demand levels and give a useful signal about where the market values certain plate categories.
Single-digit plates, double-digit combinations, and clean round numbers under the DD code attracted the strongest competition. For anyone looking to buy or sell a plate in the current market, these results provide a reference point for understanding how premium combinations are priced relative to each other.
